New Mariah owner

Well I just bought a 2000 Mariah 238 Sabah. I have it moored at lake Tahoe and would like to find a mooring cover. Is there a difference in a trailer cover and a mooring cover? Can they be interchanged? does anyone know where I can find one or does anyone have one for sale? I checked with a local boat cover shop and he wants $1800 for one. I think that is a little steep!?

Hi rpete and welcome to the club! Typically, a mooring cover isn't reinforced like a trailer cover is to handle the wind and stress created while towing and tow covers also have addition straps and tie-downs for securing the cover. If you want a custome fitted cover, it will cost, especially around boating season. You can try a generic cover from businesses like Overtons and West Marine, or there is a person on eBay that has quite a lot of covers to fit Mariahs, search "Mariah boat" in the "eBay Motor" section.

Good luck,
WetWilly
