Shabah or Talari

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Shabah and a Talari. I have a talari.

I'm not sure of the details, but basically it is the rear "wings" of the hull coming up to meet the windshield on a Shabah. On a Talari, the windshield comes down to meet the flat top of the gunnel like most boats.

The Talari was supposed to be the 'basic' line while the Shabah was supposed to be a slight step up in performance. I think you would be hard pressed though to find many differences between the two models in quality or features.

Re: Shabah or Talari

The Talari was a deeper hull, sides were/are higher, therefore the interior is deeper in the hull.

It was also the basic hull desigh.

The Shaba was more of a performance hull design. It is not as deep in the V and the interior is not as deep in the hull.

The Talari hull design seems to handle rough water a bit better but the Shaba is more agile.

My friend has a 1994 24Ft. Talari and I have a 2000 22Ft Shaba.

Funny , but I recently read an older article I stumbled across on " Google books". The article pointed out that the mid 90's Z model Talari's were commonly known as "the top of the line luxury model for Mariah boats". Mainly marketed for the high end buyer not really wanting a ski boat. While the Shaba was the all around sport model. I will go back in my research history and cite the article. Both are classics in their on right. Both share many standard and optional feature. I would love to own a Z Shaba one day, maybe a 25', 2000 model.
