Selling my Mariah has me thinking about all the things my new boat won't have. Let's list our favorite "gimmicky" Mariah options from the early years.

I'll start. Its a REALLY tight toss up between the wing windows and the retracting anchor light.

We have a thoroughfare up here that takes 45 minutes to get thorough at 3 MPH, so on a hot day those windows are nice, but the looks on my friends faces when the anchor light pops up is priceless.

Sooooo I'll go with anchor light.

Gotta agree about the anchor light getting a lot of double takes. Since that one's already taken, I might have to go with the power seat being the next biggest eye opener. The kids are always playing with it, so it usually gets noticed by new passengers when we're anchored out. It's usually followed by a disgusted comment from my wife that goes something like "oh, go ahead honey, show them the rest".

The anchor light would definitely be my first choice as well. It is pretty funny to see peoples faces when the light starts to pop up...... My second choice is either the captains choice exhaust or the docking lights......

I like the anchor storage compartment up front.
Not sure about the light, I may not have that.

I'll agree on the anchor light. Also the integrated function of the SOS lights on that circuit... I don't think anyone else has thought of that, and it's a great safety feature.

But my favorite has to be the keyless start. I may have forgotten my keys a few times, and the ability to just enter the code, start the boat up, and enjoy the day boating is an amazing feature. It also impresses a lot of people. :)

All cool things!! I like the under seat storage...We can get a LOT of beer under that seat (stacked right)

I wish the bow riders had heaters... this time of year that would be nice!!:wink_thumbup:

I vote Captains Call exhaust. There aren't many on the river with us and there just isn't a better sound than a big block echoing off the rock walls. The vent windows are a close second.

Third vote for the telescoping anchor light. I just pray it never gets bent... I was able to replace the telescoping radio antenna with a generic, but I doubt I'll be able to find a light that would fit in that hole.

Also, since nobody has mentioned it yet; as hokey as I thought the driver side window defog vent was on my "Z" package, I can say that on a few chilly mornings, it works awesome and has come in really handy.

For me, it's gotta be the vent windows.. We have friends that just bought a 2011 Four Winns with a pretty hefty price tag, the first time we went out with them they noticed our vent windows. lol. I also saw them gazing at the interior and discussing the differences between our 1998 Mariah and their brand new boat. :D The first time they rode in our boat they noticed how quite it is too, no water noise against the hull, and they couldn't get over the smoother ride and what a big wake it puts out even though it's the same size boat as theirs.

My favourite is the transom mounted outdrive tilt switch.
I use it all the time, super handy.

I would have to say the fiberglass interior side walls. Have always gotten compliments.

I'm in on the transom tilt switch. Does it count since I installed it myself?

The depth finder (which I also installed) comes in handy when approaching sandbars and making sure my boat dock is deep enough.

Depth finders are great......But mine hasn't worked right all summer. The transducer was loose and NOW totally off. I asked today at a local marina if they would epoxy it back to the hull for me. They said no and don't know of anyone in the Madison area that would. because the results are not always satisfactory. Thanks a lot!!:mad:

You may want to check the dash switch which go bad over time. I have had to replace several over the years including the depth gauge switch. The internal contacts I believe wear out.

I like the rear deck cooler, shower and electric pop up nav light. But my favorite thing is the storage compartments in the back of front seats. This is a perfect place for us to stash out lotions, boat registration, boaters cards and phone charging cables.

My transducer came loose as well (it gave inaccurate readings and blinked all the time). I used sandpaper and a block to clean the bottom of the transducer, then cleaned up the mounting surface and reattached it with slowset epoxy and a weight on it until it cured. Works great now.

This is my second mariah....knew about the power :seat, sundeck, defroster, wiper on some...but what is this anchor light you're all talking about? Haven't seen that one, sounds really cool!

Definitely the power seat. Move back to stand up or move up to sit.

Captains Call exhaust is a close second.
