Bimini help
 

Hi guys and dolls..

1993 Z230 here, has anyone mounted their bimini to the rails outside the hull sides? Thought that might leave me able to put covers on without horsing with the bimini every time? Plus, you would gain six inches of bimini. Opinions?

I recently installed a bimini top on my 182 Shabah. I installed the front brackets outside the windshield for two reasons. First, I wanted more support than winshield mounting would offer. Second, I wanted to be able to put my mooring cover on without removing the bimini. I did add rear support poles too and used custom hinged brackets because they are on the side of my hull. Might work for you too. Good luck.
