inverter help needed?

hi guys i got a question i need help with, i got that 280z from chicago. my marine uses gfi shore power outlets. i cant plug in because it instantly blows the gfi.the dealer has a month in trying to figure out why? so i had a buddy look and it came out to be the inverter is putting out continuety (im not the best speller) to the main box on inverter out. the marina i bought the boat from said this is normall and the shore power shouldnt be pluged in to a gfi outlet? but were on water does that make sense? o and for all you guys that were looking at this boat, i think the inverter dont work, hot water tank broke, trim gauge, speedo, compass, holding tank bot. rotten and leaked all inside the cuddy. and there was other stuff im forgetting. thanks and please help.

Went through the same problems you are having with our own z280.Had to have the boat completely re-wired and added a separate charger with 2 more batteries on a separate switch. As far as the gauges go just had compass and tach warrantied by Faria. As for your holding tank ,we had one fabricated and installed for $500.00 cdn.(aluminum).I have been told that it will last about 10yrs.

All the Faria gauges have a lifetime warranty ,we sent it in for repair and it looks like they may have sent a new one back.(approx.140.00usd) You will need to send them the cable that is attached to the compass as well.(took my mechanic alittle bit of time to dig the cable out from inside the mid cabin).
As for your inverter problem,we might have had a different problem then you.Our problem was with battery drain when we were on the water ,which was traced back to the inverter not working correctly. They recified the stituation by adding a separate charging unit and wiring it to the main breaker unit and re-wiring and adding 2 more batteries on a separate switch.
