Rust in the coolant water.
i bought a boat that had been sitting for five years. Apparently with water still in the engine cooling system. I also found rust in the water pump and thermostat housing. I am planning on replacing all hoses new water pump and thermostat housing. An I missing anything? I will also replace the fuel pump and fuel filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Rust in the coolant water.
Hi jetscat7, don't forget the tuneup (spark plugs, cap, rotor, etc...) and you might want to check the fuel tank for stale gas or water buildup, which will require pumping out. After you get her running, add a can of fuel system cleaner and a can of moisture remover to the tank to help wash away any deposits or remaining traces of water.
In general, give your Mariah's main systems a good going over, looking for loose connections, binding parts, areas in need of lubrication, etc... and do not forget to do the same for the trailer if you have one! WetWilly |

Don't forget the sea water impeller, change the outdrive oil and check all the bellows for dry and cracking. You don't want any leaks.
