Final cruise of the season

Well, my final cruise on my boat happened this Saturday. Lovely day to be on the water (didn't really want to give her up), but we did have early Thanksgiving plans with my girlfriends family that evening anyways. So it had to be done.

It was also the very first time I had driven my boat without having the first mate (aka the girlfriend) aboard the boat. She doesn't approve of me boating alone, just in case something should happen and im out there stranded, which is an understandable concern. But it was interesting to see how the boat performs that much differently when there isnt another body on board.

It cornered a lot easier to both directions, got on plane slightly quicker, speed was about the same (30-35mph). Trim was slightly above 3/4 and no real signs of porpoising, but I had to back off the throttle for some roller waves. Normally it porpoises easily around that trim height with two or three of us in there.

But what an awesome season spent on my boat with my girlfriend and all the other friends we invited up to my cottage. Lots of good memories, lots of good photos. The one thing im most happy about, was that it was a reliable boat all summer long!. Sure it did have some stumbles in re-starting in locks and occasional hard to start when cold, but it ran when we wanted it to.

Definately pleased with the purchase! Definately happy I own a Mariah ..... and of course, happy that Chris and Ryan started up this Mariah webpage! ;)

Can't wait for next season! :wink_thumbup:

When we were packing up from our trip in Lake Norris earlier this year, after I was able to unload all the passengers and while I was waiting for my friends to back the trailer down, I took the boat out for a run by myself. It ran better than it ever had, and I was amazed at the performance and the general feel of the boat with just one passenger. I think I actually held back a tear when I saw the trailer backed in the water and everybody saying "Let's Go!"

But it's always good to hear positive experiences towards the end, it really makes you realize why you bought the boat in the first place, and it lets you have a good memories to last you over the winter. :wink_thumbup:

ROFL! .. Yeah I know that feeling. When I was cruising up the north channel (tunes cranked of course), I was trying to go slower then the 10km/hr speed limit there. I wanted to enjoy the moment. So there was this song on the radio that I really want to know the name of because.... well ..it was just one of those feel good, bring your spirits up tune. My girlfriend thought it might have been the band Hinder. So I downloaded a torrent last night to see if it was.

I was kind of well "female dog" ish Saturday morning when cleaning it up and knowing I had to take it for its final run. Needless to say I apologized to my girlfriend for being kind snarky with her and I thanked her for helping me clean up the boat. We were under time frames, so working fast and efficient was in order and if she wasnt busy doing something ... I was on her ... umm case. LOL.

Yep I know why boat ownership is grand.. well.. ok maybe a few grand... ROFL.

I know my girlfriend had a blast this summer and and we will do it all again next year. I know my friends have already invited themselves up for next season... lol.
