1994 Z241 Hull Issues

I have just completed my first season with a newly acquired 1994 Z2141. We keep it in the water in Lake Winnipesaukee. After pulling it out for the season , and doing all the bottom washing, I was able to notice more than a few areas of blistering, as well as several cracks and scrapes along the keel area towards the bow. It was really discouraging to see all this, and I spoke to several people who told me horror stories of what could happen if I didn't repair the hull. It was a sad ending to what we considered a great boating season. The boat ran perfectly all summer, the engine very powerful and smooth. Does anyone out there have an idea of what I 'm looking at, stripping the entire hull surface, fixing the blisters and all new gel coat. I'm certainly not able to put infinite amounts of money into repairs. I know I have no one to blame but myself for not wearing better glasses upon observing the boat prior to the sale. I honestly didn't see this kind of trouble, or I would have never pruchased this boat.
Thank you for your consideration.

ncnone,
I also found a crack in the hull on the gelcoat. I have a 93 Barchetta. Luckily, there is only one hairline crack. I do not know if this type of thing is serious. I am going to have it checked out. If you or anyone else has any information, I would be grateful.
Don't be too hard on yourself, I do not think any of us have x-ray vision. Let me know how your situation turn out. Good luck to you.

read this thread.....might help with your issue, or not. I have a couple dings on my hull that I am going to repair in the spring.

Thank you for the link. Your material looks like it might work on the gouge.

The blistering seems to have many opinions on the subject posted on-line. The University of Rhode Island report, published in 1987 by Thomas Rocket and Vincent Rose definitely is one of the better ones. I also read about a device called a "Peeler" that seems quite scary AND expensive. I know there will be no easy cheap solution. I'm just looking for one that really works and prevents a reoccurance.
Thank you again
