I Got the shop book for my mercruiser 4.3l on Amazon.com. It will cost about £ 25, but it's worth every penny. They got all the shop books in there. Just type mercruiser in search field.

I agree, you can get some manuals, and you should contribute to the club! But for the engine manual, I have not found the shop book! It is 700 pages, and it is cheaper to buy it on amazon.com, that it is to print 700 pages!

Her is the link. It has gone down in price since I bought it and is only $19.99 now! Bargain!!!

Re: Manual Mariah 180SE and Mercruiser3l

The book you are searching for, I have not found. On this page you can find the general book for the boat, but it will only give you general safety tips and features. In the respect of your controls, and engine it will not give you alot of information. I have downloaded it myself and found the the shop manual is much more usefull. It is up to you! I'm a new owner of a shabah, with the 4.3 l engine, and the shop book gave me all I wanted. But if you have any specific problem, just ask! I had to learn everything from knowing nothing! anly a few weeks ago. But am very comfortable with the boat now. And your boat is almost the same as mine. Just ask!!! No question is to stupid! I'll be happy to help you.:)

Re: Manual Mariah 180SE and Mercruiser3l

A big thank you for your help is very nice.

I have a question on the throttle, I have a button "up and down" for the alpha one in French we called Trim, but in English , i don't no, that why i say Alpha One) But also a square button that called trailer.

The button is well back up the alpha one but the down does not back down.
For cons the square button which is further down the handful of gas, back down.

I do not understand why the down button does nothing.
I said that I have tried without being on the water.

All this is not easy to explain with my poor English, that's why i search the book. where you find the shop manual ? Does it existe on Pdf ? I'm interested.

Thanks a lot

It's funny that you have that problem, cause I have had the same problem. In my case it is because the trim motor( sits in the back of the engine compartment to the right, on its own) electricals have a faulty connection. Make sure that there is oil in the trim motor, and have a play with the cables. I had to change my wirering, because it was bad from saltwater.

You are looking at a Clymer manual......I don't lie Clymer or Haynes myself...They are not specific enough.....They are not real shop manuals if you ask me....You are better off spending more money are get the real Mercruiser shop manual. My 2 cents!

Hi Southwood and Snowaterdude and Pixi,

For contributing members, I think you will find that the club's library is very extensive indeed, you just need to look in the right places, click here.

Wet willy; any chance you can find the operators manual for a 97 180SE Shabah? Been going through the threads and you've helped me (just by reading your posts) find the engine and outdrive manual but looking for the one for that specific boat.
Thanks for your help
Mike

Re: Manual Mariah 180SE and Mercruiser3l

Sorry Mike, but like most boat builders at the time, Mariah did not make model specific Owner Manuals, but rather general manuals for each year to cover the basic boat and controls operation with an emphasis on boating safety and navigation.

Click here to access the "general" '97 owners manual.

For any help with the specifics, just ask our members and they'll be glad to assist :wink_thumbup:.
