Trim on keel of boat came off
There was a rubber trim piece on the keel of the boat starting above the water line going back about 4 feet. It came loose from the back to front while sitting in the water. Noticed something slapping the hull while on plane but couldn't see it until it had almost come completely off and torn itself in half.
First, is it ok to run the boat without it? What purpose did it serve? It looked like it was stuck on with a sticky two sided tape. I have pictures but not sure how I can download such large files onto the website. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike. |
Re: Trim on keel of boat came off
Probably just an after-market protector. These protect the keel when you beach. Most boats don't have them. You can install a new one if you like, but unless you beach a lot, I don't think you should worry about it.

Re: Trim on keel of boat came off
Thanks Captain Steve. I will put the boat back in the water and not worry about it.
