Re: Talari leans to the left

We have a '94 Talari, put Smart Tabs on to help the planing and it now leans to the left!! It didn't lean before the Smart Tabs. I've talked to them a few times, changed from 80 to 60 pound actuators and it still does it. I've done several adjustments and it still leans. We're still in consultation with the Smart Tab folks!!

Re: Talari leans to the left

I just found a cure for my list to port:

Step 1: Hit wing dam, thus damaging your Stilletto SS prop.
Step 2: Install original Mercruiser stock aluminum prop.

List is cured!!! :wink_thumbup:

The stock prop has a smaller diameter, therefore less prop torque to cause the list.

It really did eliminate it with my boat!!

How much power did you lose with the prop switch? I have a quicksilver prop on my boat. I'm gonna try out a hydrofoil on monday and I tried messing with the trim on wed and that seemed to help alot. Hopefully the hydrofoil will help plane out quicker.

Re: Talari leans to the left

I haven't noticed any loss of power, I probably lost a little speed on the top end, but boat seems to cruise much nicer with the stock aluminum.

I never noticed mine leaning more when I added the Smart Tabs, I noticed it when I added the Stilletto prop many years ago. Trim angle makes a lot of difference. The more you trim out, the better.

I remember when I ran the original prop without Smart Tabs, it would easily blow out at high trim angles. The Smart Tabs eliminated that problem.

I would go Smart Tabs before Hydrofoil. I love mine and they deliver as promised.
