Quicksilver 3000 Throttle assembly

The plastic on the bottom has cracked and seperated . The rubber cover over the travel trim can now potentially fall out . Where are the replacement parts for these . I have searched the net with no success . Any one ? Shabah 212

Hi crogers,

I replaced the upper and lower one 2 years ago. You can visit your local Mercruiser parts supplier and he should be able to order you the lower plastic face plate or you can order it from an on-line store.

If your controller looks like this one:

I found this QuickSilver parts breakout and parts price list on-line from Doug Russell Marine:

The lower face plate (Cover Assembly_Bottom) is highlighted in yellow on the parts list, As there are two listings and I'm sorry, but I can't remember which one it was, so ask which one comes with decal #16 (Quicksilver 3000) already installed and that's the one you want.

Click here to go to Doug Russell Marine's web site.

If your controller is different, they should still be able to order you the parts you need.

Good luck,
WetWilly

awesome stuff here Willy:wink_thumbup: I'm gonna hijack this post for a second.

my throttle is a bit sticky, that is not smooooth:shakehead: once in gear, you cannot steadily increase throttle. it jumps from 1200 to 2200 rpm. If you tap the throttle just a little bit, you can move up slowly. Is there possibly something in this control that would cause this, or is it in the linkage?

Re: Quicksilver 3000 Throttle assembly

Hi midwest mariah,

I would disconnect the throttle cable from the controller and see if the controller is still stiff. If it's now smooth, disconnect the other end of the throttle cable and check for any binding at the linkage or carb/throttle body. I suspect it's the cable as the lube inside dries out over time or gets gummy as moisture gets into it and causes corrosion as well.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you find. :wink_thumbup:
