97 198Z Shabah (getting old)

I am on my second season with my 198Z (Z198?). I have the jittery fuel gauge (that my dealer thought might be a bad ground), but I noticed it jumps more when full, Sunday when we got to 1/2 tank it seemed to stabilize. Wonder if the capacitor will help me?

My Lowrance 3500 has finally "gone to the light", but luckily I (think) I have found a replacement, as I didn't want to install a new transducer (WAY beyond my skills).

This weekend I noticed my tach reading high (1500-2000 rpms), I am going to turn the cyl# selector switch and hopefully that will help, otherwise it's off to Faria (bless them and their warranty program).

I was lucky to find a really well kept machine at Brech Marine in Selma, AL (an original Mariah dealer, and a GOOD one). Everything worked when I bought it, the electric seat, hatch cover, even the rear light on the pole, which just blows people away. I got the mooring covers and everything.

I run a 19p stainless Mercury prop now and am wondering if I can turn a 21" (I have the 5.7L V8 with EFI). I have no trouble pulling slalom skiers from deepwater starts, and getting to WOT is no problem. I'd just like to be able to cruise at a lower engine rpm. LOVE MY MARIAH!:wink_thumbup:
