1994 182 Barchetta Stereo Model?
 

This may be a long shot, but can anybody tell me what model Sony AM/FM/CD unit would have been installed in a 1994 182 Barchetta? I keep forgetting to examine the thing to find out and I'd like to see if I can get a user's manual from Sony. I can usually figure most electronic things out, but not this thing :p, so I guess I'm going to have to opt for reading the user's manual.

My 1995 180 Talari came with (and still has) a AM/FM with a cassette deck without auto reverse!

Don't think Sonys were original equipment.

Yeah, I was thinking about it after I posted that and got to wondering: Just when did CD players supplant tape players in automobile installations?

Don't know, but I finally remembered to write down the model number (CDX-S2000) and looked it up earlier this afternoon.

It's actually a pretty nice unit. The speakers mounted up under the dash on the driver and passenger sides are none too shabby, either.

I began to suspect a non-factory installation yesterday, when I was up under there checking out the fuses, and noticed plain old speaker wire and a couple other amateurish things.

IIRC my Shabah was originally fitted with a Maxxima cassette unit with auto reverse. Needless to say it was quickly replaced with technology from the current century...

Not sure what your speaker install is currently at, but my '95 was was pre-wired for extra speakers.
