Difference between 240 Talari & 240 Z Talari ?
 

Well...it's about time I found this forum. This week I took delivery of a 1994 Mariah 240 Z Talari and sold the 1998 180 Shabah I had owned for 3 years... It's time I joined the club.

So I said it's a Mariah 240 Z Talari....but I'm posting to ask if somone can clarify the difference between a "240 Talari" and a "240 Z Talari" (also listed some places as just a "240 Z" or a "Z 240".

The boat was dry-stacked and did not have a cover, so I need to order a proper custom cover ASAP. That's where I'm hesitant...when shopping for custom covers online I see different entries for the 240 Talari and the 240 Z ... Can any one advise me whether there is an difference that would affect the fit of the cover?

I've always thought the "Z" designation was for the options package. Z was the top of the line, in the 1994 year the features were defogger, stainless docking lights, trip gauge, hour meter, stainless anchor rope holders, stainless transom light, windshield wiper, shorepower, etc.

I don't think there were significant exterior changes between the two models. However if you're buying a cover online, buy the one for your specific model just to be on the safe side.

I suspect you are exactly right with the Z designation referring to options. This boat has all of the features you listed...defogger, docking lights, trip gauge, hour meter (not a premium feature in my mind, but whatever) stainless anchor rope guides, transom light, windshield wiper, shorepower & a cold transom shower.

I finally found a site with a custom cover for a Z 240 Talari, which is what the badge on the boat says. I was confused by the 240 Talari & 240 Z listings.

Hi-The difference between the Z and straight talari or shabah package are the options-(Power hatch,woodgrain dash,stainless docking lights,power antenna and stern light,windshield wiper,and the list goes on and on)As far as a cover,my Z210 came with bow and cockpit covers,but I wanted a mooring cover-I ordered mine from Overtons-When it came the box said it was for a 211 talari-When I asked them about this they said the cover was for both models-It fit great and looks fantastic-If you're interested,I bought the sunbrella type(pretty pricy-I paid just under $600 for mine)from Overtons-Good luck-Larry J.
