Re: Whats it worth?
Hi xj1514,
It would help to know the exact model and if it has any accessories, etc and what it's overall shape is like and other things like is the upholstery, motor, outdrive, etc. in good condition. As an example, NADA lists the following: '93 MX 212 Shabah with out any additional add-ons - $4780 to $5260 '93 Z212 Shabah with out any additional add-ons - $5200 to $5750 WetWilly |
Re: Whats it worth?
How do you tell the exact model ? It has a 350 Magnum alpha one Mercruiser, with dual exhaust. Also, graphics on the side are beat up a bit, can I get new ones? Upholstery needs redone, the back hatch over the engine is pretty bad, the rest of the upholstery looks good but will need done soon. Dash is in good shape as well as the carpet. Trailer is in good condition with a dual axle. Color is white and red. The very bottom of the the hull has hit something and someone has attempted a horrible repair job with a white putty of some sort. Doesnt look real deep. He is asking 8900, my credit union said it was low booked at 6500. Do these boats go for over blue book in this condition? Are they reliable, hard to find parts, hold their value? Feel free to point me in the right direction for the proper reading articles if there are any.

Re: Whats it worth?
If it's a Z model it will have all the power goodies (power seat, window defogger, windshield wiper, trip computer etc.)
Some of the parts (mostly interior ones) were built in house at the original Mariah factory (which is no longer in business), and will be difficult if not impossible to find. A lot of the other hardware was sourced from various companies, we have a complete list of suppliers in the sticky thread at the top of this forum. The driveline is obviously not a problem, parts for the 350/Alpha1 combo are readily available. These are awesome boats and should hold their value if maintained. If the boat is in top shape, I could see it going over book value, but this one sounds like it needs some work. |

Re: Whats it worth?
Hi xj1514,
There should be a capacity plate installed inside near the throttle, it should list the model. If not, we have a member that may be able to decode the model from the hull ID number located at the back of the boat, below the rub rail on the starboard side. As for the value, the NADA prices I listed were without a trailer (you can add an additional 1 - 2K for a used one). From your description on it's condition, I'm inclined to go with what your credit union said, $8900 is a bit too much. Like Z 202 said, "These are awesome boats and should hold their value if maintained." so I suggest you have the boat inspected or surveyed by a specialist to insure the electrical, motor, outdrive and steering systems are in good working order especially if your new to boat purchasing and if you can, Test it on the water. As great as Mariahs are, a poorly maintained one can become a financial headache real quick. Good luck, WetWilly |
Re: Whats it worth?
The going price now is 7900. Got the bank approval on the loan for 5600, ouch. Should I look elsewhere or counter offer again? With all the things that need repaired Im just not sure what is realistic and how much out of pocket I want to pay right now for the boat if I gotta pay for other repairs like the upholstery. Not to mention the 200 out of pocket for the marine shop to inspect.
