driving boat with leg up
 

hey guys quick question, is it hard on the boat to drive it with the leg up as far as possible (not out of the water) but as high as it can go. We got boating at a lake that at the launch is very shallow and have to drive it with the leg up as far as possible to ensure not running through the sand is this hard on the leg/motor

It can be done, but it's not recommended that you do it for any extended period of time (low rpm only). It's hard on the U-joints in the drive. Be sure not to raise it to a point such that the water intake is no longer submerged.
