94 Davanti Z235 Lighting

So I have my 94 Davanti Z235 in my shop, going over a few things on it, and I discovered that none of the interior lights down in the cuddy are working.

Are they wired through any of the switches on the dash, or are they connected directly to the fuse panel behind the dash? Each of the interior lights has its own on / off switch directly on the light itself.

Thanks,

They shouldn't be wired into any of the switches on the dash, just the fuse panel.

That's what I figured too... I managed to get a couple of them working, just by turning the switches off and on a number of times. I switched the working bulbs around a bit with the ones that were not lite, and all the bulbs are just fine.

I can only assume that some of the switches are shot... Are these available anywhere?

Thanks,

Hi 300sflyer,

Sounds like you're dealing with a little moisture corrosion, if you haven't tried already, I would shoot some electrical tuner cleaner (cleans and lubes) into the switches and operate the switch several times to work it in to see if that resolves you problem. I would also check the non-working switches with an Ohm meter just to make sure they're bad.

If you still need switches, can you attach a picture of the switch removed from the unit and I'm sure we can locate a source if they're still available. :wink_thumbup:

Ok...Got them all working. Thanks!

Two more electrical questions:

Towards the stern on the overhead console in the cuddy, there are 6 switches attached to a PC board. What do these do?

Docking lights: Can I just replace the bulbs inside the rubber boots, or do I have to replace the whole thing? I can see the letters "GE" on the bulb itself. There is power to the bulbs but niether one lights up.

Thanks,

Hi, 300sflyer,

The bow lights have bulbs and they're replaceable. I believe your lights are the same or simalar to the Barnegat QL-3294. The bulb comes in a spot and flood version so click here for the GE numbers.

Removal begins by accessing the bow light body through the anchor hatch and loosening the SS band clamp to remove the back half of the housing to get to the bulb. Once out, you can confirm the bulb number. Here's a look at the QL-3294 light assembly, click here. One last little thing, have you checked the grounds to the lights?

As for the console switch functions, sorry, we have the bowrider so I'll have to let someone else chime in on this one...

Well good luck with the lights and switches,
WetWilly

Thanks for the info!

I found a package of 2 new floodlight bulbs on Ebay for $12.95. :wink_thumbup: Can't beat that.:)

Below is a picture of the 6 switches on the overhead console. Can anyone else chime in here?;)

Re: 94 Davanti Z235 Lighting

the two farthest left switches work the two lights on the console. The other four send power to each light fixture along the wall in the cuddy. Why they have the four master switches and the individual switches on the fixtures Im not sure. The assembly on the console with the six switches will pull straight out. It snaps into place similar to the memory circuitry inside a computer
