Still looking for manual
I am looking for the manual for a 1999 Mariah Shabah Z212 for my husband's birthday. We are clueless about a few things on the boat. The manual is not posted. Any ideas?

The manuals were not model specific and never changed from 1992-2001. They are all exactly the same, the only difference being in 1997, they changed from a pocket-sized book to a full size 8.5"x11" booklet. The 1997 manual prints out easier and is more easy to read. They're all located in the "Original Mariah Manuals and Supplements" directory.
What things are you confused by? We'll all be willing to help you out! |

Excellent,
It is John's birthday and finally giving him some info will be great. There is an exhaust button that makes a throaty sound, but what does it actually do? Is is harder on gas consumption? Our center window is way out of kilter and will not close. It was closed, but tight at the dealer, but once it was in the water it would not. Any ideas how to adjust? It is a good inch out. The "captains call" exhaust button routes the exhaust out the ports on the transom (loud) or down through the propeller hub (quiet) Fuel economy won't really be affected by what you select. You may see a slight performance improvement when using the through-hull mode, the question is whether or not you want to trade that for the increased noise.
Check the supports that hold up the winshield to on either side of the walkthough. Make sure they are correctly fastened and secure to the dash. It's also possible the hinge has been bent, or the frame itself is distorted or loose. Mine needs some "gentle" persuasion to close tight. |

That's correct, the exhaust switch basically gives you the option of loud verses quiet without any noticeable change in performance or fuel economy. For the windshield, if you need to reposition or tighten the left or right halves, you'll need access to the mounting screws first. If you look at the bottom portion of the outer windshield frame, you'll will find a black foam strip insert running the length of the entire frame. The screws that secure the frame to the hull are under this strip. Just use any blunt tool and starting at one end, gently begin to pop the strip out. Once you have enough exposed you can use your hands and just pull the rest out. just becareful and take it slow if you plan on reusing this strip again as it maybe dry and brittle. If yours is, don't worry, replacement stripping is available from several sources and is reasonably priced. To reinstall the original strip, push the ends into the channel first and working your way from the middle, slowly press the rest of the strip back in. If you're using new inserts, start at one end and continue to the other end then trim it a little longer to allow for shrinkage. Good luck, WetWilly |
