2000 185 shabah fuel sending unit

OK I feel like a dope asking this but where exactly is the sending unit on this boat??
My fule gauge is stuck at half tank and the wiring looks ok but i cant figure out where the sending unit is.

It should be right on top of the tank. There is an acess hatch in the floor, just forward of the engine.

Once you find it on top of the tank, there are two wires attached to it. Simply remove the top wire with the nut on it, and ground it to the other wire. With your ignition key turned on, the gauge should show a full tank. If it does, the sending unit is faulty in some way. If not, your trouble is somewhere else...

In my own case, my gauge was reading 1/4 tank, and it turned out the cork float on the sending unit itself, was completely saturated, and would no longer "float" in the gas.

I went to a "make your own wine" place, got a new cork, [$2.50] carved it to shape the same as the original, and its been fine ever since.:wink_thumbup:

Fuel sender

I just bought a new tank for my '94 Talari. You can have the fuel sender from the old tank if you want it. It is 14 years old, of course, but still works.

Thanks for the offer, thats very kind of you.
I think I'll stick with my unit and try to fix it.
