How to empty fuel tank?

I'm trying to find out how to drain the gasoline out of a 1992 2000Z

Hi Gerald,

When you open your engine cover, can you see the fuel filler hose as it enters the back of the tank or the fuel gauge sender unit? If not, see if there is a small hinged hatch in front of the motor for access to the back of the tank.

Once you have access to the filler hose or the fuel sender gauge, disconnect it from the tank, raise the front of your Mariah to force the fuel to the back of the tank and using a long siphon hose and/or an electric pump rated for gasoline, suck out the old fuel into a gas can. Be prepared for a lot of junk to come out like rust, sediment and water too.

Once you've sucked out as much as much you can, reinstall the hose/sender and check that everything is tight (wouldn't want a leak here) and fill with fresh fuel.

You may want to add a water remover to the fuel in-case there is a little left and change your fuel filter while you're at it.

Good luck,
WetWilly
