Anyone help out a new owner?
Hello everyone let me start by saying a big Thank You to all of you Mariah owners out there. It's so good to see a group stand so loud and proud behind something that is obviously very worthy of the admiration. I am a first time Mariah owner and am extremely proud of the 1993 Mariah 212Z Shabah 350 V-8 the boat was just purchased with under 500 hrs on the original engine, and is in immaculent condition. I have only a couple of 'immediate' concerns or fixes that even need to be done. I thought I'd list them here and check back and again any help for a first time owner would be greatly appreciated. I tried to review most of the old discussions to make sure I wasn't just shooting a dead horse, but my upfront apologies just in case I missed it and any of these issues were already discussed in another thread.
1). The fuse for the docking lights keeps popping out. I've tried to reset the fuse simply by pressing it in but whenever I go to switch the docking lights on the light on the switch stays on for a second and then the fuse pops out. 2). The windshield wiper is worn to a nub can I pick this up anywhere? Actually that's it. Like I said this boat has been extremely well maintained and cared for, and I'm so happy to have it. So to everyone thanks in advance for all the help to come, and happy and safe boating to all of you. :wink_thumbup: Michael |
First off, welcome to the board Michael! I hope you find this site helpful and your source for everything you'll ever need to know about your Mariah.
Concerning your docking lights, if your fuse is tripping, there must be a short somewhere along the line, or a wire is hooked up incorrectly. That's the only thing that will cause the breaker to trip. Double check the wiring on the lights themselves and see if they're hooked up properly. Then check for any frays or points where they could be shorting out, check contact points around metal. I believe my docking lights have two wires, a blue and a black. Let us know if you found any issues, and if so we'll try and walk you through it. I'm assuming you're talking about the windshield wiper blade, (not the whole assembly) I believe it's universal with automotive blades. Just remove the blade and take it with you for reference. I need to replace mine too! Good luck and let us know how it turns out! |
Thanks Chris
Hello Chris, just wanted to say a quick thanks I went to a boat dealership and priced the windschield wipers, they were cheap so that was good :) I also checked the wiring on the docklights and you were right, two of the wires were switched around on one of the lights. I fixed that problem and now I'm enjoying the use of my 'head lights'. :) So thanks again Happy boating!
