Well, I was just making sure he was aware of my 3.0 boat vs a 7.4. So my response isn't based off me owning a 7.4L and "knowing what he is talking about" kinda of thing.

Last summer I think I spent around $200 to $250 in fuel. I think you guys probably spent that in one fillup. :rolleyes:

Yes, the smartcraft gives me the gal/hr then I divide by GPS speed. My best RPM is around 3600-3800rpm worst is pulling the kids on the "Great Big Mable" tube at about 23mph and .9mi/gal.
Lowrance makes a nice fuel flow after market meter.
If I added more smartcraft gauges I could get more info but I don't think it is worth the cost. Fuel flow is all I really wanted.

My last fill-up cost $446! :shakehead:

If the price of gas keeps going up, it'll be $250 per fill up x the gross national product divided by the prime rate... ah crap, I'm just going to stop looking at the pump!:shakehead:

We had a similar problem this week. We went to fill-up and it only took 10 liters of gas. We thought super! This boat is great on gas. When we ran out of gas 10 miles across the lake, it was not so great. We have two motors and one stopped and we were able to coast back on one motor. The intake must be lower for the right motor. What a nice feature. :rolling_laugh:

We found out the problem though. We had a bad storm and we figure the water came in through the air vent. But the vent would not let water in the gas and it plugged up the vent. we unhooked the hose at the tank and blew out the water from the p-trap out the vent. No problem now.
It does take about 20 liters before both motors run.
Another experience in the life of our boat.

Hi guys, just curious, anyone know the fuel tank specs on a 2000 Shabah Z252 7.4 mpi? I'm finding that every ride even short ones the gauge takes a big dive? I usuallt run between 40-50 mph.

56 Gallons, same as the Z250. I know exactly what you mean about the fuel consumption of the 7.4L! :)
