Need a new windshield for Barchetta 181

Hello everyone,

I just bought a 1996 Mariah Barchetta 181 and need to find a replacement windshield -- actually only the curved part on the right hand side.

I see the windshield manufacturer was Taylor Made. Would anyone know what exact product reference it is? Taylor made has hundreds of references (see attached list) but I don't know which one to order -- dimensions are quite complex to get...

Thanks a lot.

hi Eboll

i dont mean to disuade you but.....Taylor Made is not very helpful when it comes to Mariah windshields. There are a few of us here who have tried to go thru them without success, me included. I ended up having one made out of acrylic which has done the job but admittedly, it is not as good as glass. Here's the response i got from Taylor Made:
Dear Sir,

When Mariah was in business they would buy fronts, door, and wings from us separately and mix them up on the windshields. For that reason we do not know what windshield is on this boat. If you look on the inside of the bottom trim there is a 6 to 9 digit number. if you can provide that we can see if we can still manufacture the parts for this windshield.

Gayle

I gave them every number i could find on the windshield and frame but they came back saying they didn't have the mold & couldn't manufacture it.

Most people have experienced the same thing from Taylor Made - no help what-so-ever. I was told they have the molds, but it would cost more than my boat's worth to fire it up and create a replacement glass.

I've found http://www.marineglassspecialties.com to be a great option. I've heard they are either owned by Taylor Made or have some affiliation with them. They should be able to help. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
