Diablo 18 Lightweight
New to group. Find out more about the Mariah name and great reputation. Seems like a number of Diablo's in great condition and I am about to make an offer on a very nice 1993 Diablo. Down to this and two others, a 96 Chaparral 1830, and a 96 Chris Craft Concept 18.
This will be my second boat, first was a99 Mastercraft Prostar 190. Just looking for a nice cruiser for the wife and I with occasional rides for grandkids. The Mariah seems awefully 'light' at under 1900 pounds. The same lenght Cris Craft is just under 2700. and the Chapararral about 2500 lbs. Mostly small lakes but don't want to get tossed around like we did on the Direct Drive Prostar. Is the Diablo closer to a 'ski' boat than a runabout? |

Mariah's are great boats, like the Cadillac of boats in their day. Diablo is a nice little ride. The hull designs are a bit better than most boats and offer better handling and a smoother ride. The manufacturer data attached shows the weight to be 2200 pounds, so a but more comparable to the other models you mentioned, assuming you are talking about the I/O version and not the outboard only version. Good luck choosing, you know we're all pulling for the Mariah though.

Thanks Greg, I hadn't seen that particular piece. Yes, looking at an I/O.
