Anchor Light Not Working
On our 97 Z252 with a power anchor light, the stem works fine, but the light won't come on. I put a new bulb in, but no change.
What next? Should I replace this with a new LED light? |
is it getting power?

I'm sorry. Yes the power stand extends, but the light won't work.

Check the contacts where the bulb attaches for corrosion. Clean them up, and retry. Corrosion is a big issue on our boats for some reason, and sometimes just cleaning the contacts fixes a lot of issues.
Even if something's wrong with it, the good news is, you can still buy a replacement. The company is called Innovative Lighting. Here's a link to their new model of the Powerlight, which uses LED's! LED Powerlight I replaced all my bulbs (including my stern light bulb) with LED's, and they work great. I did a writeup for the board in the How To section, check it out, it has the part numbers and photos and everything to help you out! |
Corrected...
Sorry for the late reply. Turned out to be a loose ground inside the unit. Opened it up, cleaned it up and we were good to go.:D
