1998 Mariah Jubilee 214 5.0 Starter Removal
 

I have a problem with a 1998 Mariah Jubilee not wanting to start. We've been running this boat occasionally for about 3 years now. A few months back, I noticed that sometimes, on a cold start, it seemed like the motor wouldn't want to turn over. It would go extremely slow for a few seconds, then it would eventually start.

The issue that I'm having now is that when I turn the key, it just clicks. I've went through the troubleshooting process and we are getting plenty of power. Jumping across the starter terminals also provides this same clicking noise.

So its time to replace the starter. The issue is that is almost impossible to reach.

Does anyone know if it is even possible to remove this starter without pulling out the entire motor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
