Remote battery terminals

I have read the problems with the power hatch/sundeck and was wondering if someone has installed some remote battery terminals in an easy access location for a quick jump start if needed. I talked with my local marine and they sell a kit with the positive extension and ground. The cables connect to a small box with the positive and negative terminals inside. Just mount it somewhere easy to get to and carry a pair of jumper cables or remote battery start box and that should do it. Hopefully someone nice is around the lake to share their battery with you if you don't have the jump box. Seems like a relatively cheap way to have an easier time if your battery dies.

I just went and looked at a Mariah that I was considering buying and the owner had done that. He had a z model with the power hatch, he had his shop relocate the battery on/off switch underneath the bench seat for easy access in the event the hatch won't open. He had also wired directly to the engine hatch some sort of terminal that you could connect a rechargable battery to to open the hatch only in the event your batteries are dead. He said he could hook up any typ of battery to it, such as a cordless drill battery, and the hatch opens right up. He had installed a pretty serious system which was why he did this, he would just take a fully charged drill battery when he went out.

Remote battery terminals

I'm in the process of adding remote battery terminals on my z212 shabah. I ordered the remote terminals from summitracing.com Do a search for "remote battery jumper terminal." It's summit's brand, they are $14.99 The rest I will document (with photos hopefully) with other part numbers and a description. I'm finishing the project this week. The terminals will be located under the back seat, starboard side so that if the battery dies, you can hook a portable jump pak or just use jumper cables from another boat to get going/lift the rear hatch. I'll keep you posted!

Adornare....that is what I was talking about doing. Let me know where you get your cables and ground from (and what length you used.) I am going to put the terminals under the rear seat also. Look forward to some pictures...thanks:wink_thumbup:

battery terminals

In my Z222 I have remote battery terminals mounted underneath the bench seat. It has saved me once. Keep in mind the wire size depending on whether you plan on being able to jump the boat or just use a trickle charger. I chose to use 4 gauge to be able to do either.

I am going to use 4...thanks
