Factory captains call exhaust flaps issue
New to Mariahs and this site. Hello everyone!
I noticed while at the lake yesterday, that one of the shutter / flaps in the exhaust was all the way at the opening of the exhaust tip. I can feel the flap in the other exhaust about 6" up or so. I'm not sure how the system works or how/where this flap attaches. Any help would be very welcome. Thanks! |
Re: Factory captains call exhaust flaps issue
are they just water blockers at the rear im guessing?

Re: Factory captains call exhaust flaps issue
Correct, the flappers are designed to prevent water from backing up and getting into the exhaust manifold such as when you come off a plane.

How do they attach in the exhaust pipe?

Re: Factory captains call exhaust flaps issue
They are mounted in the exhaust down tube. Little square notches in the tube accept the flappers axel. See link for photo.
