Contemplating a "2002" Mariah Boat Purchase

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Everybody,

New Guy Here !

I'm contemplating a purchase of a "2002" Mariah boat that is being sold as a 272 model.
My H.I.D number shows it's a 2002 model year 21852 boat made in April 01 so it is one of the last Mariah boats made in the old plant I guess.
The lack of info for this "limbo" year boat is very disheartening and was hoping for words of encouragement from other 02 Mariah boat owners.
It's a great deal on a clean, under 200hrs boat that has been in covered dry storage for 7 years.
I'm just not sure if it's a "real Z model or not. It may even be a 275 but not sure of the differences between the 72 and 75.
Anybody who can fill in my blanks with a bit more info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

First off, i suggest you read this "STICKY" on buying a used Mariah.

Second, as a 'Silver Contributor' to a somewhat dead site, you do have access to all of the brochures and documents the social distanced site Admin guys have made available. I would suggest just looking at the 2001 brochure as the boats didn't change for 2002. The pics will show you the differences between the 270, 272 and 275

Thanks MikeyT,

I appreciate the "sticky" and found the info helpful.
So, I confirmation it is a Z275 Mid Cabin Plum color Open Bow model as seen in the 2001 Mariah Propaganda.
Now I need to find a good used trailer to attach to my Yukon SLT. Finding the trailer looks to be more difficult than finding a boat as no one here in NC seems to have what I need used. UGH !

Any suggestions for a new trailer ?

Thanks

Heritage Trailers (aka Knight Brothers Trailers) in Benton, IL made a lot of the original trailers for these boats, as the boats were also made in Benton, IL. They are still in business and build a great trailer.

Landscape Design Guy, did you end up buying the boat?

Hey ZugZug,

Yeah, I did ! Gave deposit yesterday and will pick up in 2 weeks. Still need a damn trailer though. I guess I should break down and buy new as I can't find anything appropriate that is used.

Are you sure you'll be happy with your purchase? This is a pretty old model of the Mariah. It's just that there are a lot of other cool boats out there that you probably don't know about. For example, my friend had this situation. He really wanted to buy a Mariah SX18, but he changed his mind about buying it as he took a ride on another one. He once rented a boat at pontoon rentals in Destiny and fell in love with this kind of boat. My friend wanted to buy something like this. He just liked that such a boat could fit a lot of people, and he could ride friends. So, don't rush to choose a boat.

Really? You provide a comment like that over a year afterward the decision was made ? :rolling_laugh:

I am not a specialist or the biggest fan of this domain. However, I like to read a lot about different subjects and topics, and yesterday I found this amazing platform: https://crowoutdoors.com/best-aluminum-bay-boats/. It has a lot of useful pieces of information, and it's well selected and pretty clear. I think it might be useful for you or someone else on this platform that is searching for aluminum boats. You may take an examination, maybe you'll discover the information you are looking for.

It's unfortunate that this site makes no attempts to block or remove spammers such as Nathan11 or Sisabel..... and i guess the positive side is that this site isn't busy enough to attract many spammers.
