Inherited Mariah - Need help with Model

Hi all,

Looking for some help, I recently inherited a Mariah and have no clue about this company, I have only ever run outboard fishing boats, so this is new for me on a couple fronts.

Overall it seems like an extremely well built hull with a great motor and trailer, seems like it should handle water pretty amazing. I have read about the history of the company and some other general information on this site, has been very helpful.

Here is what I know so far:

HIN: MAB13976L687
Year:1997
Engine: AlphaONE MerCruiser 5.7L
Sticker on the side says: Mariah Shabah

My main two questions are this:
1. What is the model Number and length?
2. Is there anything super critical I need to be aware of before I try start it up so I don't do damage? (other than earmuffs and the garden hose)

Thanks!!

Use a tape measure and measure the OAL of the boat. Only one person (ShabahZ280) on this site has access to the HIN# information and he hasn't been here for quite a while.

Check the fluids and give it a go hoping the gas isn't old or wet.

I would want to see oil pressure come up and temp stabilize. If that happens OK but you have unknown history I would change every fluid/filter and replace the impeller pump in the drive. Then go out on the water. If you are decent mechanic all this is done in a Saturday.

DO NOT try to skip the impeller change. You have to install a new impeller. Take it from someone who spent an afternoon picking bits of impeller out of the oil cooler. The impeller if the #1 thing to do to a new to you boat. I don't care if you have a picture of the previous owner replacing impeller while holding a newspaper from last week. Change it.
