Clicking at high RPM

Recently bought a 1996 Mariah Shabah. We had it fully serviced ( new gear shifter, battery, oil change, spark plugs, fly wheel ext.

We took the boat out and ran it, at high RPMs I heard a clicking and it kinda sounded like a lawn mower. The clicking would get worse and worse at lower RPMs until we stopped the boat. If you guys have any Idea please share. It also shuts off sometimes when I go from forward to neutral.

Thanks
Michael

Re: Clicking at high RPM

You didn't mention which drive you have. If an Alpha1 then the shut off during shifting is most likely due to the lower shift cable or a misadjustment of the shift linkage. The Alpha1 is designed to briefly cut off the ignition when shifting.
