98 talari 246 window code
 

does any one on here have a 98 talari 246 ?
im trying to get replacement glass from tay;or but they need a code off lower passenger window frame
i cant find it on mine,any help will be appreciated

I would be surprised if Taylor Made can supply one for a '98. Last i heard a few years ago, they still had a few molds for 94 - 97's with only a couple of newer molds. That number is usually stickered inside the window frame and wont be seen until the glass is removed.

spoke to tailor last week and they said they can make the curved glass but need the windoe code number that i cant find

What kind of $$$ did they suggest it would cost ? Again, that 'sticker' or 'window code' was usually mounted inside the window frame track so that it would only be seen when the glass was removed.

They won't give a price to till I get the 6 digit code
They said lower passenger front frame near dash but I don't see it
I might remove passenger glass and look inside frame like you said

Thankfully I don't have this problem but what has anyone done to replace broken glass if needed? Is it possible to have a price made without the original? Just wondering.

There are places that will make a glass window for you but you have to send them the window frame. It IS pricey though. There was one member here a few years ago who looked into having it done and said he was quoted $3600 just for one piece of glass.

An option is to have it done in acrylic by a local plastics shop but most likely just keeping searching eBay, checking with boat recycle yards or hope someone on this forum decides to part out their boat.

On my 94 Z210 Talari the code is on the port side frame of the windshield next to the dashboard. Maybe your is near by. Happy hunting.

By the way, my starboard side glass (behind the wing window) broke last October and I had a shop make it from Acrylic, I did have to send my frame in and two weeks later I had it back. Taylor was too expensive for me. These guys I used, are from Sacramento and they were pretty reasonable and they can make a windshield too.
