1996 z244 jubilee

I'm currently in the middle of purchasing a Z244 Jubilee from family. I have a couple things I'm going to be working on right away others to put off. Once I get the boat home I'll post up a few pics.

First two projects I've got besides changing all fluids, starting battery and water pump (sat for 3 years [emoji26]) is going to be the radio bezel and the front anchor/ladder hatch lid (original is by the dam at the lake of the Ozarks if someone wants to go find it for me). So far I've found a template for the bezel but I'm stumped on the hatch lid. Does anyone have such a template? I'm not finding a lid anywhere available.

Boat has a 350 (being told it's a high output, assuming he means magnum) and bravo 3 outdrive.

Good luck finding a replacement hatch... maybe best to make a post in the 'Parts Wanted' forum. Possibly someone there is parting out a boat.

Got her home and started cleaning her up! Got the radio bezel out and threw a battery charger on to see if the batteries would maybe come up enough to work on her. Most likely buying batteries tonight along with new oils and water pump.

So, I finally got all of the fluids changed. Probably could have left half of them alone but, didn't want to chance the engine oil and lower unit oil. Figured I'd play it safe. Took some trying to get her to fire up as the bowls were dry as was the entire system but once she caught, she ran great.

Tonight's task, clean and wipe everything down with 303 and get some good pics.

Side question, I know that the speedometer doesn't work and supposedly a lot of work has been done to attempt to make it work with no success. I'm going to check the pitot tube for leaks and blockage but, in the event I can't get it to work, I'm considering a GPS speedo. Any input on a quality GPS speedo that doesn't break the bank?

A less expensive route to using a GPS speedo is to disconnect the speedo from the outdrive and mount a separate pitot tube to the transom. That's what I did when I couldn't make it work off the outdrive.

Has anyone seen this happen before? The blocks rotated down striking the ventilation plate.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dfa23ef003.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6b5c76423f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...42ab59d4e2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d62563cad4.jpg
