Hey all! My new 2 me 97 198se shabah seems to be pert near perfect for a 20 yr. old boat and i'm elated to have it after 10 years without a boat! N.A.D.A. bluebook and everywhere else I looked calls it a 20 footer.Now I know being a man that we like to think everything we have is bigger than it actually is but I pulled a tape from the transom to the "pointy end"[ZORRO] and it measures 17'8" at best; Did I go through some hot water and it shrunk!! Granted the swim platform adds another ft. but thats really not part of the boat as it pertains to handling rough water etc.Using those specs I could screw a sheet of plywood to the swim platform &call it a 26 footer!!

Yeah with modern boats it's all a scam. charge the consumer for a 20-footer when you really are selling them a 17 or 18. Add 3 ft of swim platform and charge an extra 5 grand easy money

L.O.A. of 19'6" means just that: Length OverAll. The includes everything on the boat, including the built-in "swim" platform.
