Z302 Anchor Recommendation?
I'm looking for an anchor for my Z302. I'd be using it to just stay put in the lake with light winds and a mud bottom so nothing too beefy, but I also don't want to have to re-set it over and over. I'd also like something that would fit in one of the bow compartments. Any suggestions?

Re: Z302 Anchor Recommendation?
I have a Slide Anchor - box anchor. It works great in all situations, we use is in lake and river with or without a current and it always holds. The small size holds my Shabah 250 all day and never reset. I have held my 250 plus a 28 ft challenger off shore with no issue. They collapse and fit almost anywhere as well.

Re: Z302 Anchor Recommendation?
Which anchor to use is a very regional preference. I would ask other boaters in your local rather than ask this forum. I boat exclusively in the Hudson river which for the most part is a clay/mud bottom. A Danforth style anchor works best for me. I have a 13lb that I use regularly to hold my Z280 in some strong currents and wind but I have successfully used a small 6 lb anchor on a calm day.

Re: Z302 Anchor Recommendation?
If you use a box anchor, I suggest you also carry a plow anchor. If there is a significant amount of sea grass on the bottom, a box anchor will not set.

Re: Z302 Anchor Recommendation?
I went to the SS plow anchor this year. I'd love to show it to you but it is now a permanent part of Lake Ouachita. I guess that tells you well it holds !!
