Finally going to get my boat on the water!!!

Hey everybody,
Hope everybody is geared up for the weekend. I am finally going to get my boat on the big Mississippi River this weekend and I cant wait. I have spent the last two weeks polishing on my boat. I used Meguires 3 step process. It was a lot of work but I like the results. Anyway, I will have some pictures next week to share and probably some questions.
One last thing, I have a 2000 manual as well as a brochure with all the 2000 models in it. Does this site have this manual already? If not, I know I can send it in to be scanned so thats what I will do. Its really cool to page through the brochure and look at the different styles as well as the options. Those of you that have the "Z" package are lucky. They have some really nice things on those boats. Hope everyone has a good weekend and be safe.

Sounds like you've got a great weekend plan! Be sure to take some pics and let us know how it all turned out for you!!

That Meguiars 3 step is awesome stuff, isn't it? It amazes me every year, and I've seen it do wonders on even the most faded finishes.

Yes, we do have the 2000 manuals and the brochure, but thanks for offering them up for the site! :)

I hope you had a good time on the river!

We got the old Barchetta out yesterday, finally. Went to Monro Reservoir and saw only one other Mariah.

The old Mariahs are still the most beautiful boats on the water.

93mariah - Have you given up on Geist and Morse Reservoirs? I've seen about 4 or 5 originals out on Geist this year. I love Monroe, but that's too far unless it's for a whole weekend. Glad to hear you finally got her out!

We went out on Morse a couple of times last year, during the week when it's not so crowded. Most of the time we trailer to the larger reservoirs. Never been on Geist.

We just joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary. If you have a boat 16 feet or longer, you can train to be a coxwain and use your boat for Auxiliary work, such as helping out during the Regatta on the Ohio river, Fourth of July fireworks traffic control on the local lakes, etc. Travel expenses (gas, meals and lodging) are reimbursed by the Coast Guard.

Advantages are excellent training (free) on and off the water and military discounts at hotels, etc.

Google Coast Guard Auxiliary and find the location and website for a flotilla near you if anyone is interested.

The Mississippi just dropped below flood stage finally in my area. Where on the Mississippi were you?

Mississippi Riiver

We have friends that have a place in Alma on the wisconsin side. We usually are below the lock that is just below Wabasha, not sure what number it is. My boat ran great, topped out at about 54 MPH. A couple of people couldnt believe that it was a 2000. Thats usually where we go. I would love to find some other Mariah owners around. Anyway, love the boat, ran great, everything worked perfect. Cant wait to get my pics posted.
