Bimini with Taco Fittings

Yesterday I had lunch with a friend who used to work with me but moved on to Taco Metals.

Taco made our old Mariah rub rails I believe and I checked out their line of marine stuff. I really like the ball & socket tube fittings for Biminis which is why I'm sharing this.

I have never liked how the hinge base fitting for the canvas is mounted on my windshield top rail. It sticks almost sharply up like a triangle and I generally remove it so it won't poke a hole in my cover. But the profile and fit of the F13-0242 might mean it is much less obtrusive. So it might be extra money but would support my old friend if I convert my storm canvas and do a bimini with this fitting style and less worry about holes in my Sunbrella cover.
