Alarm sound

I have a 95 Shabah Z202. When I turn my switch on I get and alarm like sound. Sounds like when you leave your car door open but it is a continuous alarm and not a beep. The alarm stops when the boat cranks up. This came after my boat has started to just shut down while running fine. I can crank it right back up and will idle fine but won't accelerate. Any ideas what this may be?

That's actually a good thing it's doing that. It is testing the alarm warning sound, to alert you if let say your engine is overheating.

Re: Alarm sound

The alarm will sound if insufficiant oil pressure, excessive engine temperature, insufficient Drive lubrication.
So it should alarm when key first on. do to no oil pressure. Should turn off when started. If oil pressure is good and temp under spec and oil in drive reservoir up to correct level if equipped with one.

Re: Alarm sound

The initial alarm duration will depend on whether the engine is carbureted (on continuously until there is 6 psi or more of oil pressure) or is EFI/MPI (on for only 2 seconds)
