dash lights

Hey guys, pround new owner of a 97 z210 shabah limited edition. I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer. Do the gauges on the dash have lights for night time operation? I ask this because mine will not come on. Which one of the dash switches turns them on? Second question is my boat is all red and the surfaces that are in the sun most of the time are just starting to show minor oxidation. Is there a good rubbing compound or wax that will remove it. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Not sure about the lights, I know the gauges are backlit but I have never tried to turn mine on. As far as the oxidation goes, I recommend Meguiars oxidation remover, followed by their polish and then a coat of their flagship wax. They also sell it bundled as the Meguiars fiberglass restoration kit. That is the only downside to the beautiful red hull, you really have to keep it polished and waxed. Post some pics when you get a chance!

Yes, the dash lights have illumination and they are connected in with the Nav & Anchor lights switch. Usually though, you can't see it when you first turn them on. The brightness of the illumination is controlled by the "Dimmer" switch. Press and hold it down until you see everything light up!

I second the Meguiars Fiberglass Restoration Kit.... It's about $35 and worth every penny. I'm getting ready to do mine for the year.

Thanks guys, I got the lights all figured out. I have spent the last 2 evenings waxing with the Maguiers kit, and it is working out well.:wink_thumbup:
