When I purchased my 218 in 1999 at Naples Marina FL, They had a picture on the wall of the Rend lake resort. That is just outside of Benton IL. I told Capt Jim that I new exactly where that location was. Naples Marina made me a great deal, I drove to FL and picked up the boat. Later that year I went to the factory in Benton to have full canvas made and have a few minor things fixed. The lady that helped me was very helpful, she came out to my boat and made notes of everything that I wanted. She was very helpful, however, I don't remember her name. They took me on a tour of the factory, everyone was so friendly and all were dedicated to making a great boat. Hundreds of people worked there and did a great job building a great product.

It is still sad that the original Mariah is no longer.
I took these pics today 9/3/2016 of the original factory...

Re: Mariah factory

I live in Tulsa home of Lowrance Marine electronics. For years Lowrance had a second to none customer service policy. A big part of their customer service was because of a lady named Linda. She was fantastic and would personally take care of any issues with sonars. The service guys were right here in Tulsa. Linda even delivered parts in her own car to local fishing tournaments at 4:00AM to guys that had broken units. Everyone loved Linda and we bought Lowrance because of the customer service as much as the product itself.

Unfortunately, Lowrance was bought out and gradually customer service went downhill. Linda quit and then they started outsourcing the technical service to Mexico. It took six weeks last time I had to have a HDS unit worked on. It seems the kind of customer service we used to expect and that captured our allegiance is very hard to find these days. It sounds like Mariah had a "Linda" too. Here's to all the fantastic customer service representatives we have known!
