1995 Shabah 202Z compartment lid
I purchased my 1995 Shabah 202Z this summer and loving it.... It is beautiful and very very well maintained. The electric engine compartment lid is very very slow. I'm thinking this is probably not normal. Has anyone seen this before? Or is this just the design?

Welcome to the club! Well my Z202 had its hatch lift removed. I looked all over the Internet. Most only go about 1/2" per second. If you want to shell out about $200 you can get one that goes 2.5 " per second.

I used to run an IMP 310 Eleganza way back when I still lived up on Long Island (and was single). The Eleganza had an electric engine hatch lift and I remember it being unbelievably slow. I thought it was for dramatic effect.
My 202 didn't come with the option, but I thought of getting a couple of linear actuators and installing them. I know the wire for them is in the harness. I hope no one throws rocks at me for posting this old photo of the 310 Eleganza... It was a pretty nice boat and ran like lightning. This is the model with the dual Merc 454s in it |

Mine are broken I think. They will go super slow then just quit working all together. Where have you found ones for $200?

You find them on ebay under linear actuator, but I will look on my computer for the site for the fast ones.

Re: 1995 Shabah 202Z compartment lid
Hello all. I recently purchased a 1995 shabah Z202 that is in need of TLC. Slowly and piece by piece, I'm getting her back in shape. I'm going to install the linear actuators for the engine hatch. I have looked and looked to find pictures of how the engine compartment looked like before the other owners neglected it. Does anyone have pictures or know where I can see them.
Thanks in advance Bobby T. |
