New Mariah z192 Barchetta owner
Hello all , I am the new owner of the z192 . I have a few questions . I bought the boat at a great price and it is really solid and clean. I spent 3 days cleaning it all inside and out . It looks great . It has the 4.3v6 . My questions are : It has sat for the past 7 years untouched . It was winterized proper and there were no problems the last time it was running. I bought it from a good friend and I believe him . Now with it clean I need to go through the motor . My plan is to do a full tune up and drain the fuel tank and service the lower unit with new oil . New battery then crank it and see what happens. Is there anything I am missing or anything else I should do first? I am really green to boating and open to all suggestions . I must say by from what I have seen , these are very nice boats and my family and I are looking forward to hitting the lakes soon .Thanks for any and all help!!!

Welcome to the club Rmoon! Unused for 7 years..... wow. We have some great guys on this site that will help you out. I am enjoying my 3rd month of boat ownership and am learning every day from them. Good luck and post some pictures of your boat.

Have you turned the engine over at all ? You might want to spray some JB Blaster down each spark plug hole before cranking. I seriously doubt there are any problems with rings but it's just a precautionary.
Enjoy and welcome |

Re: New Mariah z192 Barchetta owner
it is a 1995.. thanks for all the replies . I was told to use a squirt of tranny fluid in each cylinder as I change the plugs. Is this ok? the hour meter only reads 168hrs . Where and what is the gimball bearing? How hard is it to do yourself? I need to remove the rear seat to drainthe gas tank .I was told there is a fuel shut off ball that might be stuck in the tank too.. Ill look for it and clean as necessary. Has anyone else heard of this ball?
