Yea I wasn't chancing the torn shift bellow. So I replaced all the bellows, gambrel bearing, Shift cable, fresh water tube, gear oil tube, gear oil thru hull fitting, fresh water thru hull fitting and bushing. What a pain in the butt. That is not something I want to do again, especially the thru hull fittings.

But yet I still get water from somewhere. It is not coming from the transom anymore, Im 100% positive on that. Its not a lot of water, maybe a 1/2 to a quart after being on the water most of the day. Not enough to show water in the engine bay area, must just be in the lower area. I do know that I took this water on, because I had the boat parked on a steep incline with no plug for a day or so to make sure it was dry before putting it in the water. I do have a couple of knicks in the gell coat below water line. I had these spots checked though and was told they wouldn't take on water. So Unless there is something I cant see under the trailer bunks I have no idea

Wow lots of work being a shade mechanic I am impressed. 1/2 quart is not that bad. I get more than that from my skiier coming in off the water.

As far as that first question, my boat is a year older than yours and the same model. The bilge pump float switch is wired hot to one of my batteries. There is a bilge pump manual override on the dash to turn it on without the float switch activation.
One of the first things that I did was install a dual battery system and take that single battery on/off off of the engine cover wall. I countersunk the new 1-off-2-all switch on the right side through the fiberglass.
Let me see if I can find a photo.....

Pllevine, I would like to see it. I am looking at doing the same as a winter project on my boat.

I'm looking.... The switch that I used was a LOT smaller than the one that Mariah put in - same manufacturer - but it had an option to countersink it

Wow that looks great! I really do not like it on the engine cover right now with all the wires you can't take it off to get to the engine. Does the 2nd battery really help? Mine seams to do fine

I think it does help.... but I also upgraded the stereo from the stock one to a 600W Sony system with six speakers and two subwoofers

Like I said, the seats and upholstery are the real issue with my 202, but the engine/outdrive will push it to high 40's to low 50's with a 19 degree pitch prop, the audio system even does bluetooth handsfree phone, and every gauge and light works. Even have subdued LED lighting inside the side pockets. And VHF/GPS and a chart-plotter
