Need a little help

Well I searched all over for the paddle wheel(air temp/ trip) bracket and component but no luck other than what is stated in the vendor info area.
Problem is mine broke off this weekend and i cannot tell if there is something that was supposed to be inside the bracket that mounts to the transom (see pic).
If anyone has any info that would be great or if I can replace this whole system all together with a Lowrence?
