Is this a light?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
New boat owner here. I have a '94 Talari 180. In the attached pic , is the item I have circled a light? I assumed it was but don't notice it lighting up. I honestly haven't taken a closer look at it but was just thinking I'd throw this question out there before I head back to the boat this week. |
Re: Is this a light?
Yep, that's a light alright.

Re: Is this a light?
As a new owner it seams these are pretty dim. Has anyone found a brighter bulb? Transom light especially.

Re: Is this a light?
So I went to the boat and popped the cover off. How does the bulb come out. Does it twist out, pull out, etc? I tried twisting but wasn't budging so wondering if doing it wrong or its just stuck in there.

Re: Is this a light?
I replaced all the lights in my boat with these
http://www.amazon.com/YITAMOTOR-Wedg...Ultra-Light/dp Worked great and they just pop right in. |
Re: Is this a light?
The bulb should just pull straight out. Try with your hands first. Be careful if you end up using pliers or anything, as they'll usually crush the bulb if too much pressure is applied.

Re: Is this a light?
I got the bulb out but I don't see any label on it as far as what type of bulb it is. Anyone know the specs?

Re: Is this a light?
Those courtesy lamps use a 194 automotive bulb.
While it's out you may want to consider switching to LED! They can be found nearly everywhere these days. If you want white or blue, most auto parts stores and even walmart should carry them. If you want a custom color like red, green, purple, etc., you can order them easily online through many places including eBay. |
