First Time Out / Check your hoses!
I got the boat out for the first time a few days ago and everything was working perfectly until heading back to the ramp. I nailed the throttle coming out of a no-wake and heard a load backfire and then major reduction in engine power. Went back to idle and everything seemed fine but I could hear a loud whining noise so I opened up the hatch and water was spraying out between an exhaust hose connection on the upper elbow from the riser.
I should have known to check these connections first but didn't. Just a reminder to do it before getting your boat out! Half the problem with mine was someone replaced the OEM hose with a piece of generic tubing and the clamps tend to move around on them. I ordered up a new set of OEM ones which have indentions for the clamps to sit in. Now I just gotta squeeze myself back there to replace them :eek_animated: |
