What is the difference between the 2000 250 Shabah and the 2000 Z250 Shabah. Is it engine size or configuration?

Little bit of both. The Z is the premium trim level. I too have a Shabah 250. It has numerous Z options aside from the Zero Effort throttle assembly, dock lights and Bravo III outdrive. Im sure I left something out but to put it into perspective its like a Ford Lariat compared to a Ford Platinum. If you are a GM guy an LT to and LTZ... You get the idea. When it comes to the engine I imagine it is whatever the costumer wanted. I know there are 250Zs with the 7.4 and I know there are 250s with the big block MAG motors.

Do a search on here and I bet you can find the break down of details. Or if you are a contributing member you can peruse the Mariah Brochures and see the exact things that came with the Z.

Thanks so much for the info. Any idea how I can tell if I have the 250 or the Z250. I have the 7.4L engine in my boat. Will the serial number indicate which model I have?

I'm new to the site. Can you explain what a contributing member means and what brochures I will be able to access?

Any idea if I can download a full owners manual from this web site?

This link will tell you about becoming a contributing member, there is a brochures for you year of boat, however there is not a specific manual for Mariah's.. the manual was more like boating 101 book, however there are lots of manuals for specific parts of the boats.

As a former Z250 owner, (and the club co-founder), I'll be glad to try and help with your 250 related questions. I know that boat very well, nearly completely inside and out!

Motoxxx43 hit the nail on the head. Engine size was completely up to the buyer. The Z series is an optional package with lots of features. I don't have the list with me right now, but search around, and you'll be able to find it. It's also listed in the 2000 brochure. However there was also a "Z Limited Edition" package, that was truly the top of the line for that model. It included solid gelcoat colors, limited edition "indy" graphics, and buckskin interior. This was nearly a $2k optional package above the additional $7k for the "Z" package.

If you'd like, send me a PM with your Hull ID Number (plate on the transom on the starboard side, begins with MAB...) I've got the factory build sheets and can look up all the info for you, and that way you can have the right info!
