cooling system
Just pulled boat out to hook everything up and grease the lower unit on the bravo 1. Started it up and can not get the water to go through motor. The pump and pulley are fine and I am getting suction when I remove the hose to check. But can not get it to go through the motor. What gives?
Thanks for the help |
Re: cooling system
You may try disconnecting the intake hose for the raw water pump in the engine compartment and try back flushing the lower unit. If that doesn't work, start checking hoses first, check the thermostat, check the raw water pump. Those are some ideas I hope will help. Keep us posted to how it is going.

Re: cooling system
If you boat in salt water I know what the problem is..... the tube running through the transom has been pinched shut.

Re: cooling system
Sorry havent been on in awhile, It was the impeller, didnt look that bad but after taking it out and looking it had some cracks and just wasnt getting enough suction. Thanx for the thoughts though.

Re: cooling system
Glad to see you got it figured out. Just out of curiosity how old was the impeller that was in there?

Re: cooling system
It was about 3 to 4 years old I think. Its probably something that I should just start doing every 2 years.
