can any one tell me what motor I have
 

Hello Friends! Im new the to boat world and my first one is a 1994 Mariah Talari. i know nothing about it and do have the title or paperwork yet so I dont know any thing about it except its a 140h.p....I get this thing dirt cheap bc of a fire on the back of boat....all wires melted but still intact...i was wondering if anyone knew what motor this is so i can get new wiring harness and throttle cables, and ect....also any other tips on how to get a wiring diagram anad a repair manual would be very much appreciated! Thanks. The model number on the coast guard plate says its an 18 ob. which im guessing 18' open bow

If you decide to become a paying member of this forum you will have access to Mercruiser manuals and Mariah electrical diagrams. They are in pdf format. This would be cheaper than buying 1 factory Mercruiser manual and you would have access to more information. If you plan on doing all the work yourself this would be very useful. Hope this helps.

The other thing that's kind of interesting is your Coast Guard plate. Mine ('96 Shabah) is marked 18 i/o which means inboard/outboard. I would have thought that "ob" stood for outboard, since Mariah did make a 180 Talari with an outboard option in previous years and in '94 they made a 183 Diablo with an outboard motor and max rating of 140hp.

You might want to consider sending your Hull ID# via PM (private message) to our Admin (ShabahZ250). He has a copy of the build sheets up to Jan 1995 & he might be able to confirm exactly what boat you have.
